Michigan Clubhouse Quality Improvement Collaboration
As you are probably aware, the Department of Community Health (DCH) uses Performance Measures as a way to ensure that all of the services that they fund are effective, efficient and of quality. The new administration is looking closely at outcomes with all services. They are speaking about accountability and they are moving at a quick pace.
As the DCH Clubhouse liaison, Marty Alward has been asked to come up with outcome measures for Clubhouses for the year, and Marty is including all of us in this process. This is great news as we are all interested in providing the best possible recovery opportunities for the citizens in our state that are experiencing mental illness.
To this end, we have been having bi-weekly telephone calls on Quality Improvement and Collaboration. We are looking at new performance measures for the clubhouses that we will be incorporating into the survey. We appreciate those who already participate and invite those who don’t participate to start.
Our collaboration has so far decided that the 3 areas will be Wellness, Employment/Education, and Relationships/WOD.
